Potten End Open Gardens

Well it's nearly the weekend and here I am just catching up with writing about last weekend. Summer goes much too quickly doesn't it? What a scorching hot Sunday it was last weekend too (well that's a dim and distant memory). Like mad dogs and Englishmen I ventured out with my sister and niece to visit Potten End Open Gardens. I have a dear friend who lives in this lovely village just outside the even lovelier town of Berkhamsted.  I was so exhausted from walking in the hot sun that I took very few photos but here here are a few photos from the afternoon.

Pretty Potten End cottages

My sister and niece enjoying some welcome shade

My friend inherited this lovely garden border when she bought a house on the village green

My favourite garden of the afternoon for this wonder vista. Isn't it heavenly?

What a wonderful place to sit with a good book

This weekend I plan to spend in my own garden. What are your plans? I hope the sun shines for you wherever you are.

I always love visiting open gardens.
We had thunder storms and it's cold now, we're planning to go to a garden fair.
